Senior Structural Engineer - (Water & Industrial Structures (8–12 Years Experience)

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with 8 to 12 years of experience in water structures and industrial facilities, with experience in highway structures considered a strong value addition. In this role, you will lead the structural design, guide project teams, and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and manage a team of structural engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and technical support across project stages.
- Delegate work effectively and maintain a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Act as a technical champion within the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Design & Technical Delivery
- Lead the structural design and analysis of water-related structures such as:
- Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
- Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
- Pumping stations
- Reservoirs
- Intake/Outfall structures
- Lead and deliver design for industrial structures, including:
- Utility buildings
- Pipe racks, pipe supports
- Equipment foundations
- Process structures
- Experience in highway structures such as culverts, retaining walls, underpasses, or bridge substructures will be a valuable addition.
- Use advanced structural analysis tools (STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Robot, PROKON, Tekla, etc.) to model and optimise structural systems.
- Prepare and review design reports, calculations, tender documents, and construction drawings.
Quality Assurance & Design Review
- Conduct detailed structural assessments, feasibility studies, and risk evaluations for new and existing water/industrial structures.
- Ensure adherence to internal QA/QC processes, design standards, and business management systems.
- Promote the proper management and reuse of design data and templates.
Client Interaction & Site Support
- Coordinate with architects ,process, MEP teams, geotechnical engineers, hydraulics/hydrology specialists, environmental teams, and contractors.
- Liaise with clients and consultants to resolve design issues and provide clear technical guidance.
- Support site teams by clarifying design intent, answering technical queries, and ensuring correct implementation during construction.
Innovation & Continuous Development
- Develop or refine design methodologies for complex water and industrial projects.
- Keep updated with new engineering technologies, digital workflows, and sustainable design practices.
- Build and maintain client relationships, and assist in identifying new business opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience in structural design and analysis, primarily in water structures and industrial infrastructure.
- Additional experience in highway structures is a strong advantage.
- Strong practical knowledge of RC and steel design, load combinations, boundary conditions, and foundation systems.
- Expertise in structural design software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Robot, PROKON, Tekla or similar.
- Solid understanding of Indian, Eurocode, American codes, UBC, and other relevant standards.
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams and delivering multiple projects.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven, assertive, and capable of performing under pressure while guiding the team.
