Design Engineer – Water Structures, Industrial Structures & Buildings (3–6 Years Experience)

Job Description
We are looking for a Design Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience in water structures, industrial buildings, and general building projects. You will handle both design and coordination responsibilities, supporting a wide range of civil and structural projects. This role offers strong technical exposure and clear opportunities to grow into senior engineering positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the structural design of water-related structures such as treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, intake structures, pipe supports, and utility buildings.
- Work on industrial structures and building projects, handling concrete and steel design under the guidance of senior engineers or the Team Leader.
- Carry out structural analysis and modelling using FE tools and industry-standard software.
- Prepare design reports, calculations, DBRs, and technical documentation with high accuracy.
- Support BIM/drafting teams by providing clear markups, sketches, and design inputs.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP teams, geotechnical engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure design alignment.
- Review and check drawings, calculations, and construction documents prepared by junior engineers.
- Participate in site visits to verify construction progress, check compliance, and respond to design-related issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members when needed.
- Assist in preparing tender submissions, design packages, and project proposals.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Follow QA/QC procedures, company guidelines, health & safety requirements, and sustainability best practices.
- Support the team in solving complex design challenges with practical and efficient solutions.
- Stay updated with new materials, tools, and engineering techniques relevant to water and industrial structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in designing water structures (WTP, STP, pump stations, reservoirs), industrial buildings, and conventional building structures.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design principles.
- Good knowledge of Indian, British/Euro, and preferably American codes and standards.
- Practical experience in load assessments, load combinations, and understanding of foundation systems and boundary conditions.
- Proficiency in structural software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Robot, PROKON, Tekla or similar.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, DBRs, specifications, and Excel-based calculations (knowledge of VBA/automation is a plus).
- Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to handle client/contractor interactions professionally.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to work comfortably in fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially for water and industrial projects.
