Lead Structural Engineer – Structures (8-10 Years Experience)

Job Description:
As a Structural Lead with 8 to 10 years of experience, you will assume a key leadership role in overseeing and managing the structural design, analysis, and execution of diverse projects. Your expertise will be critical in guiding teams, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality structural solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of structural engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and guidance throughout various project phases.
- Oversee the structural design and analysis of complex projects, including high-rise buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and specialized structures.
- Direct the structural design and analysis of complex water-related infrastructure, utilizing advanced analysis software to model, simulate, and optimize systems for safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the structural team.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, overseeing their work, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Develop/ Review plans and budgets for your projects
- Develop design methodologies for complex projects by carrying out appropriate research.
- Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities.
- Creating a supportive environment and ensure effective task delegation within your team.
- Be a technical champion within the team
- Ensuring that reusable data is collated, stored, and shared with design teams
- Deliver multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion and within budget and to programme
- Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training
- Be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with little to no requirements levied by customers
- Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
- Compliance of business management system.
- Oversee and review the work of junior engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and technical support.
- Collaborate closely with other clients, contractors, Architects, and other service disciplines like MEP, Geotechnical, hydraulics, hydrologists, environmental engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural elements with hydraulic systems, environmental considerations, and sustainability principles.
- Conduct thorough structural assessments, feasibility studies, and risk evaluations for proposed and existing structures related to water infrastructure, providing innovative solutions and recommendations.
- Production and checking of all design tender information prior to submission
- Liaisons with construction/site management to ensure design interpretations are correct at every stage of the project life
- The management of the design process under the various contract strategies.
- Liaison with the client/consultant on design issues
- Review and approve detailed construction documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements, emerging technologies, innovations in water infrastructure engineering and best practices in structural engineering.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in civil / structural engineering or a related field
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in structural design, analysis, and project management.
- Proven leadership abilities, including team management, resource allocation, and successful project delivery.
- Expertise in structural analysis software such as Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD Connect Edition tools, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, PROKON, TEKLA products or similar tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of American, European, Indian codes, regulations, UBC and other international standards and practices related to Structural Engineering and industry standards for buildings and water-related structures.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage teams, allocate resources, and drive projects to successful completion.
- A strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure and also someone who motivates and guides the team to perform well under pressure.
- Responsible for the aspects of the projects from the team under the appropriate quality processes of the organization
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
